Marking Five Years of Moravia Press
As I write this my boys are playing outside and I am reminded of another spring five years ago when I rocked a baby, while my four older boys played outside and I tentatively began planning out some of my hopes for Moravia Press. The truth is I began writing morning time guides on composers, poets, artists, fairy tales, and reminders of truth five years ago and had tucked a little dream inside my heart that someday I could design a history curriculum that met our needs. I am so incredibly thankful for these past five years in which that dream has become a reality and has grown to include a host of other studies that have enriched our home and provided opportunities for discipleship. I am also humbled and grateful for every family that has entrusted their history studies to me and pray it has been a blessing to your family.

Echoes of Independence
Can you believe it’s almost summer and with it 4th of July celebrations? I’ll be honest and tell you that for me Independence Day is neck-and-neck with Christmas, I absolutely LOVE the 4th of the July! And this year is so special because it is the Semiquincentennial–250 Years! How marvelous!
Since last summer I have been quietly working on a summer morning time that would celebrate the American spirit. I am excited to announce the release of Echoes of Independence: Keeping an Inheritance–a Semiquincentennial Summer Morning Time celebrating American sound, voice, and landscape through the music of Aaron Copland, the words of Walt Whitman, the magnificent brush of Thomas Cole, and a gentle journey through historical events that led to liberty and the stewardship of keeping it. This study includes four flexible weeks of composer, poetry, art, history, geography, and a summer read aloud. It even includes a fun “50 Books for 50 States” picture book list. This book has stuck with me since my book club read it and it was so timely, as I finish teaching ancient and mentally shift into the Early Church and Middle Ages.
